'The construction industry is typically conservative, risk-averse, and pursues profit maximization, leading to a continuous preference for building with (inexpensive) concrete,' states the article from Notariaat Magazine published this week. According to Mark Compeer and Robert Winkel, it is time to stop building with concrete and switch to timber construction, because wood CO₂ binds instead of emits:

We prefer to construct a future-proof building that we can be proud of.
