Sectie C is a former 6-hectare factory site on the outskirts of Eindhoven in the Tongelre district. Until 2007, the site served as a production complex for Stork-Nolte Elektrotechnische en Mechanische Industrie, manufacturing switchboards, lampposts, and traffic signs. It is one of the former industrial complexes where Eindhoven is redefining itself.
Many creative entrepreneurs and designers are located on the site within a creative ecosystem. The tenants have united to develop initiatives that contribute to this creative ecosystem, including the organization of exhibitions and the DDW. Close cooperation with the municipality aims to maintain Sectie-C as the "design area" attracting approximately 25,000 visitors. With the same intention, Focus acquired the complex in 2019 to safeguard the value of this breeding ground for the city.
In collaboration with the municipality of Eindhoven and the Sectie-C Foundation, a plan initiative has been launched to redevelop Sectie C into a new urban district. The existing foundation will be further developed into a future-proof ecosystem within a mixed-use area for living, working, and experiencing.
